    SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE

    Time and Place

We meet at 10 a.m. every Sunday morning at the Hilton, southwest of the Guangzhou East Station on Linhe Xi Heng Rd. The service runs about 90 minutes, followed by 20-30 minutes of informal fellowship. Please come on time as we start the service at 10 a.m. sharp. Email us using the form to the right if should you have any questions.

    Worship (Music)

An important part of our service is our time of worship where we sing praises to God. Several teams, with a range of worship styles, organize the song selection and musical accompaniment on a rotating basis. If you don't know the words to the songs, don't worry, they are projected onto screens as well as printed on songsheets.

    Announcements

We share important items of interest to the whole congregation from the front, but we also have a bulletin board for exchange of all kinds of notices. If you feel your annoucement should be made from the front, please see an elder or deacon.

    Offering

We accept tithes and offerings toward the running of the fellowship. We accept proposals for how surplus offering money, if any, can be best used, and the servant-leader's team is responsible for these decisions. For more information, or to submit a proposal, please contact Carl Wong.

    Corporate Prayer

In a group this size spontaneous prayer from the congregation is not practical, so we invite one person each week to lead our prayers. You may email your prayer request in the contact section of this site. Or, you may submit a "prayer request" in our prayer request box at the back of the auditorium; requests will be incorporated into the intercessory prayer that day (and/or taken home by a prayer group in the fellowship). Please see Richard Enyeobi should you need more information.

    Sermon

The service is a time for spiritual nourishment, and we seek to serve God's Word and inspiration every Sunday as the main dish. While we don't have professional ministers, we do have committed and gifted people who love God and who prepare diligently a weekly message from the Bible. A sermon MP3 is uploaded on the website for you to download. If you have any questions, please email us at info@gicf.net.

    Communion

We offer communion on the first Sunday of every month. The format varies depending on who is leading it. We use communion wafers and grape juice.

    Children's Church

Many children are not able to listen quietly during the sermon and profit more from teaching directed at their level. For children up to 11, we have separate children's church (Sunday School) available.

In order to protect our children, parents are required to both send and pick-up children aged 9 or below. In addition, all parents will be required to fill out a form with contact details and sign-in/sign-out their children.

(Children will return to the service at 11:30.) Please contact: Troy Appleton.

    Marriages, Baptisms, Dedications

We are unable to offer marriages and baptisms, but these can be arranged at a local Chinese church. We can do dedications for infants and young children. Please contact Jason Dexter.

Government policy on participation of local Chinese

By law, we are permitted to organize this gathering only if it is restricted to "foreigners". We would all like to bring Chinese friends, but we simply cannot at this time. "Overseas Chinese" and those Chinese with foreign resident permits may attend, as may Chinese engaged or married to foreigners and being adopted by foreigners. Please help us comply with this unfortunate restriction. We recommend our Chinese friends attend one of the local churches, and you may attend that church with them; get a flyer at the door with names and times of a local service.
